Shovels are now in the ground for Ontario’s largest purpose built Multi Unit Residence Passive House.
Designed by KMAI, the multi-residential complex features 10-storeys with 145 units, ranging from bachelor to three-bedroom suites. The building, located at 3100 Meadowbrook Lane in Windsor, will also include shared amenity spaces on each residential floor.
KMAI started working with the client, Windsor Essex Community Housing Corporation back in 2018 when our firm prepared the feasibility study.
With a super airtight high R-Value building envelope; triple glazed windows; thermal bridge mitigation; and a mechanical system with energy recovery ventilation, the building is designed to meet and achieve Passive House International standards and certification.
The building brings much needed affordable housing to the City of Windsor—the be first new affordable housing project in three decades.
The anticipated construction completion date is Summer 2022.
