Fort York Visitor Centre Progress

The construction of the Fort York Visitor Centre is progressing well. Corten panels are being installed, and interior fit out is nearing 80% completion. David A. Spittal, Senior Project Coordinator for the City of Toronto commented on the project team's consistent level of care and involvement in bringing the project to fruition:

"Throughout the process, the consultant team has maintained their compelling design, modifying it to accommodate new requirements as they came forward without diminishment of the original competition concept. They bring to bear a depth of experience and ‘hands-on’ attitude, especially during the construction phase."

Kearns Mancini Architects visited the site with Patkau Architects, and commented on some of the details coming to fruition. We couldn't take our eyes off the beautiful colour of the corten steel panels as well as the Profilit glass that has been installed on the upper volume. A few more photos from our site visit are posted below.
